Fire Safety Training and Evacuation Drill at KTH

KTH actively works to ensure that employees and students have knowledge of fire safety in order to prevent, reduce, and limit damage, incidents, and accidents caused by fire. The Security Department at KTH is responsible for planning and providing training and exercises in fire safety.

Fire safety training is offered to all employees in both Swedish and English once per semester. The training aims to provide basic knowledge about fire risks, how fires start, and how they can be prevented and managed. The training is tailored to KTH’s activities and environments.

Basic fire safety training (theory and practical exercises) is conducted in cooperation with the training provider with whom KTH has an agreement. Current training sessions are published on KTH’s intranet.

The training can also be carried out at each respective school at cost. Orders for special fire safety courses are made using a dedicated form in the forms archive. Orders for fire safety training must be submitted 8 weeks before the planned training date.

Training sessions are held on weekdays between 08:00 and 16:30.

Cancellation of a course must be made at least 15 working days before the scheduled course date.
Cancellations should be sent to sakerhet@kth.se.
