Physical work environment
Physical work environment within operational safety includes the other risks of accidents with injury that may occur in KTH's activities. Examples of risks include machinery, traffic, falls or collapses, and threats and violence.
Risk management is central to the work with the physical work environment and should preventively detect and counteract risks before something has occurred that has, or could have, caused injury. If such an event should nevertheless occur, preventive risk management aims to minimize the damage that occurs.
KTH should be safe, secure and aware of the risks that exist. The safety and security department provides support for the activities, develops university-wide procedures and conducts internal training in the area.
The work on the physical work environment is mainly governed by laws, ordinances and regulations. KTH is covered by all of them. At KTH, the safety representative participates in the work on risk management. All work on risk management, risk assessments, action plans and cooperation with safety representatives must be documented.
