Mikael on the current situation

Published Mar 19, 2020

Head of School Mikael Lindström provides information on the current situation where many at CBH work from home as a result of the spread of covid-19.

Dear colleagues,

First of all, we would like to thank you all for your hard work and co-operation during the last week.
The situation we face is challenging and by all accounts will remain so for a while. We are particularly impressed with how quickly you have adapted to the current situation, especially regarding the need to conduct our activities in digital form. Warm thanks!

As this unprecedented situation develops, we will continue to be confronted with challenges in terms of logistics, social interaction, motivation and uncertainty. It will therefore be especially important to maintain regular contact with our employees even though we are not present at KTH.

We would like to stress the importance of holding and participating in regular work-place meetings (so-called APT meetings) over video-link. We feel that it would be appropriate to hold meetings at least once a week. We encourage you to particularly consider those who do not have a well-established support network, e.g. newly arrived employees.

We encourage participation in the many upcoming digital seminars /Ph.D. thesis defences, etc.
Also - please use your imagination to propose other forms of digital interaction!
Why not host an “e-fika” or even an “e-AW”!

We have asked Department Heads (and those they delegate to) to continue with “medarbetarsamtal”. This will provide an excellent opportunity to discuss implications and concerns arising from the current work situation.

You are always welcome to contact the School management if you have any concerns.

Take care of yourselves!
