Amelie about Sigbritt Karlsson
Head of School Amelie Eriksson Karlström writes about former President of KTH, Sigbritt Karlsson, who passed away this week.
On Saturday, I received the incredibly sad news that KTH's former President, Sigbritt Karlsson, had passed away in the morning after a period of illness. Sigbritt was not only the President of KTH, but had also worked for a long time at our school and therefore many of us were close to her. She was a professor at the Department of Fibre and Polymer Technology and many people there had a close relationship with her.
At CBH, we have organised a memorial at Teknikringen 30, floor 6, for those who want to sit down for a while and remember Sigbritt. There is also a memorial and a book of condolences in Sigbritt's memory at KTH's library. Together with the FPT department and KTH's management, we are also planning a memorial ceremony so that those who have worked closely with Sigbritt will have the opportunity to remember her and her time at KTH.
In times of grief, most other things feel trivial and unimportant. This week I am therefore taking a break from telling you about other things happening at the CBH School. Take care of yourselves and have a great All Saints weekend!
