Amelie on the operational dialogue

Published Oct 25, 2023

This week, the CBH school has had an operational dialogue with the President, Dean of Faculty and other members of KTH's management. At the operational dialogue, the status of various ongoing initiatives and the plans for the coming financial year are discussed. We had a very good discussion that will form the basis for developing the school's business plan for 2024.

On the education side, we have worked a lot in 2023 on the development of the quality system for education. We have also had several projects within the Future Education initiative, which to some extent will continue in 2024. We will probably be able to start new projects within Future Education in 2024, so it is time to start thinking about which educational development projects may be interesting to work with in the next round.

The attempts to increase the volume of education within the President’s "economy in balance" initiative are beginning to produce results. During the autumn, more students have been admitted to our education programmes than last year, but the biggest difference is in lifelong learning courses and independent courses. Here, several of the school's teachers have made fantastic efforts and developed new courses. It is very positive for the school's economy that we can increase the volume of education and we hope that this development can continue in 2024.

Overall, there is still a lot of uncertainty surrounding the budget for 2024. The new model for distributing basic education funds has not yet been finalised, and we have not yet finished analysing the impact of increased premises costs next year. However, as I have previously signalled, it may eventually be necessary to consolidate certain activities in order to reduce the cost of premises.
