Inspired by Stanford, MTH invites all researchers at CBH to research seminars. In 45 minutes, young researchers present current research while the audience participates with ideas and tips.

When Seraina Dual was a postdoctoral researcher at Stanford, she discovered the benefits of attending weekly research seminars. As a Associate Professor at Medical Technology and Health Systems, Seraina wants to continue the tradition.

"The seminars build a sense of community. We can share ideas and give each other tips on methods," says Seraina.

Last spring, she launched the MTH research seminars on a trial basis. From this autumn, the seminars will be open to all researchers at CBH.

"The 20-minute presentation us followed by the most important part – a 25-minute, highly engaging discussion with the audience," says Seraina.

Topics range from image processing to ergonomics and health informatics. Young researchers are also invited to give tips and demonstrate the resources available at the school.

"Our goal is to facilitate exchange and maximize the academic experience for young researchers at KTH," says Seraina.

The seminars take place on Wednesdays at Flemingsberg, but it's also possible to attend via Zoom. The next seminar is scheduled for October 11th.

"We encourage everyone to ask questions so that the speaker leaves the room with some new ideas and directions," says Seraina Dual.
