Process description: external research funding
Step by step process for most research funding agreements.
1. Calls for funding (EU, Vinnova, VR, Formas, SSF, the Swedish Energy Agency, etc.).
2. The researcher informs the Head of Department that he / she plans to apply.
- EU projects: Contact is established with RSO.
3. The application is started.
- Budget template is obtained with the help of division accountant.
- RSO offers advice if needed.
- EU projects: application process is supported by RSO.
4. The application is submitted to funder.
5. The application is granted or rejected.
6. If the application is granted, the researcher contacts the contract coordinator ( avtal@cbh.kth.se ) for help with an agreement.
- The researcher provides a contract proposal (if available) + important information and necessary documents. Read more under "Specific information needed" at Contract Management at CBH . If important information is missing, the researcher will be contacted.
7. The contract coordinator registers the project in the case management system CASE where the information and documentation are compiled. The material is then forwarded to the Civil Law and Contracts unit at RSO.
8. The legal counsel reviews / draws up agreement, negotiates with counterparties and communicates with the researcher.
9. The legal counsel recommends signing the contract (if the legal counsel advises against signing of contract, the researcher communicates this to the contract coordinator for further discussion).
10. The contract is signed:
Agreements signed by the Head of School: The signing process is handled by the contract coordinator. When all parties have signed, the researcher receives a copy of the agreement from the contract coordinator.
Agreements signed by the Head of RSO or the Vice President of Research: The signing process is handled by an RSO advisor. When all parties have signed, the researcher and the contract coordinator receive a copy of the agreement from RSO.
