The second group of five projects to receive financial support through EECS's internal call Small & Visionary projects has been decided.

The following five projects, all unique and resulting in new collaborations across departmental boundaries, are granted SEK 500,000 each:

  • Accessible Cybersecurity Graphs - Tino Weinkauf (CST) & Mathias Ekstedt (NSE)
  • Enabling CivicAI for Youth Safety - Rob Comber (MID) & Amir H. Payberah (SCS)
  • Assessing Uncertainties in Agentic AI - Martin Trapp (SCS) & Hossein Azizpour (RPL)
  • The role of Sound in Sleep and Memory: Improving Sleep by Cueung Positive Memories - Sandra Pauletto (MID) & Pawel Herman (CST)
  • Generative Communication Realities: Co-creating Wireless Worlds with AI and Physics - Haibo Li (MID) & Ming Xiao (ISE)

The assessment and distribution of the funds have been carried out by a committee chaired by Lina Bertling Tjernberg, Professor.

EECS allocates 5 mSEK in FOFU agency's capital for strategic initiatives at the school. Employees from at least two different divisions or departments can apply for funding of 500 kSEK to jointly develop project applications. Projects can be based on existing research but must clearly formulate research questions that are innovative and not already researched.
