Kristina Höök, professor in Interaction Design at KTH (EECS), who has been appointed Honorary Professor of Human Computer Interaction at University of Nottingham the coming three years.

How did this happen?
"I, or we at MID (Division of Media Technology and Interaction Design), have been collaborating with the University of Nottingham for a few years, more precisely with Steve Benford at the School of Computer Science. We are both, but in different ways, active in Somaesthetics, an interdisciplinary field of inquiry aimed at promoting and integrating the theoretical, empirical and practical disciplines related to bodily perception, performance and presentation".

What does it mean?
"Formally, it means that I have been entitled University of Nottingham's facilities, including the libraries. In a more practical sense, it means that our collaboration will continue and expand, which is, of course, exciting. It is also a way for the University of Nottingham to express its appreciation for my and MID's work, and our contribution to our common field of research".

Also, for you, the highest academic title in the UK, awarded to individuals whom universities wish to appoint, honour, and work with.
"Yes, which is fun and an honour, of course, and something that hopefully can be useful in the search for grants for our continuous work and research at MID".
