Patrick Norman new director of the PDC Center for High Performance Computing
Replaces Dirk Pleiter who returns to his professor position at the Division of Computational Science and Technology (CST).
Patrick Norman has been appointed as the new director of the PDC Center for High Performance Computing .
The change of management, with immediate effect, follows a change in principle for appointing directors of PDC, which will now be rotating between research leaders of the large PDC user groups from across KTH. This new principle is another important step to integrating PDC's resources at KTH further.
Dirk Pleiter will return to his professor position at the Division of Computational Science and Technology (CST).
“Dirk Pleiter has made very valuable and highly appreciated contributions to the development of PDC, leading for instance the installation of the Dardel computer as well as preparing the organization of PDC for the future”, says Ann Lantz, Head of School.
In his new role as PDC director Norman will take up the responsibilities in projects, networks and collaborations where PDC is a partner. In the short term, the focus will be on strengthening the role of PDC within the Swedish and European HPC community.
“We are very grateful that Patrick has accepted this position so that KTH can benefit from his strong relations in the community,” says Lantz.
