Staff meeting 12 Febuary

The first Staff Meeting of the year was held in Kista on 12 February. The agenda included information about the new organisation at EECS and the move from Kista to Campus Valhallavägen.
At the meeting, Joakim Lilliesköld informed about the new organisation at EECS, which will come into force before 2026. Joakim Lilliesköld highlighted some particularly important issues: administrative support, administration around master theses, a transparent and sustainable financial model and a balance between GRU and FOFU. An analysis will be made around the administration of theses, GRU allocation and course distribution and the financial distribution models.
Markus Hidell presented GRU's financial results for EECS 2024, indicating a deficit of approximately 60 MSEK. The financial statement for 2024 shows a negative result of about 30 MSEK. Nevertheless, this is a significant improvement compared to budget, thanks to hard work in increasing student numbers. And EECS also received SEK 16.7 million in compensation for overproduction in 2024.
Lina Bertling Tjernberg, talked about the visits that EECS school management makes to the 15 different departments during the spring. Lina also talked about EECS Research & Impact Day, which is planned for the second year in a row and will take place on 19 August.
Gunnar Malm, project manager for the move from Kista to Campus Valhallavägen, informed us that all courses for autumn 2025 will be on Campus and that all administration at bachelor's and master's level will also be on campus. Gunnar also informed us about the premises that EECS will move to on Campus Valhallavägen, where COS will move to Malvinas väg 10, SCS will move to Sing-Sing and EECS will move to Teknikringen 31-33.
