Call for Applications: Strengthening Collaboration through Staff Mobility

Opportunity for researchers and teachers at KTH to apply for a temporary stay at an external organisation. The grant can be used to fully or partially cover salary costs during the mobility period.

This call aims to strengthen and further develop collaborations between KTH and various actors in industry or the public sector. By having KTH staff temporarily spend time in an external organisation, we deepen relationships and increase the understanding of research and competence needs in industry and society.

The grant may be used to fully or partially cover salary costs during the mobility period.

Selection Criteria

Applications will be evaluated based on:

  • The applicant’s ability to effectively engage with the host organisation and contribute to the objectives of the call

  • The potential for long-term collaboration between KTH and the host organisation in the relevant research area

  • The extent to which the funding supports the initiation of new collaborations or the strengthening of existing ones

  • The potential for initiating new research projects

  • Enhanced integration of real-world relevance into KTH’s educational programmes

Background

KTH has participated in several national initiatives to promote outgoing staff mobility, including the projects KLOSS AkUt and PAUS. KTH has also run internal initiatives to support staff mobility, including a school-focused effort between 2018–2020.

As part of the ongoing development of staff mobility at KTH, participants are expected to attend a follow-up meeting with staff from the RSO (Research Support Office) and share insights and experiences from the exchange with their group or division.

This initiative is financed by external funding for increasing collaboration that KTH has received earlier.*

Applications will be reviewed by a panel led by Deputy President Mikael Lindström. The selection will take into account how well the proposed mobility aligns with the purpose of the call. Applications may be prioritised to ensure a diversity of research topics, types of exchange, and contributions to both research and education.

*Funding from Vinnova awarded to KTH based on the evaluation of KTH’s collaboration activities in 2016 (Vinnova Pilot 2), in which KTH was ranked as excellent.
