About ChatGPT Edu service at KTH.

Important to know!

We do not yet know what will happen to any existing data if you already have a ChatGPT account linked to your KTH email address. We have not yet had the opportunity to confirm with OpenAI whether it is possible to synchronize previous material. Therefore, if you already have data in your account, we recommend that you do not accept the invitation until this has been clarified.

Who can use the service

The ChatGPT Edu service is only available to employees at KTH.

Service procurement

To gain access to ChatGPT Edu, you must first order a license. Orders are handled by authorized purchasers  at the schools through the ITA - Ordering portal .

Some features in ChatGPT use credits. As of October 2026, credits are included in both available subscription plans. You can read more about credits here:

Other Information

OpenAI’s textGrain is a text watermarking technology and is not currently enabled by default in ChatGPT.

To meet applicable EU transparency requirements, OpenAI, the provider of ChatGPT, intends to implement text watermarking (the invisible marking of text) to facilitate the machine-based identification of AI-generated content. However, OpenAI emphasises that the technology has limitations and should not be regarded as entirely reliable.
