Learning resources in Canvas Commons produced by E-learning

Over the years, E-learning at KTH has produced several learning resources and templates to facilitate teachers' work in Canvas, so they quickly can create a structure for their course content. This material is published on Canvas Commons and can easily be imported to rooms in Canvas. The material is found under the name "KTH team e-learning". In most cases, the templates and learning resources are available in both Swedish and English versions.

Complete room templates 

All automatically created Canvas rooms are prepared with different templates depending on the type of room such as course rooms and examination rooms. These templates are available in Canvas Commons where you also will be able to find other versions of them, for instance, versions translated to swedish or differently structured.  

Important note! Import the template before you the select the settings of room. These complete room templates contains material as well as the room settings and that the room settings will be overwritten with the template’s settings. Existing material will not be affected by the import, but the settings for the room will be overwritten with the settings of the template.  

E-learning has developed templates for the following rooms: 

  • Program room. 
  • Course room. 
  • Examination room (two variants). 
  • Freestanding course rooms.

Learning resources and material templates 

The support material described under this heading can be used as part of a course or to support you as a teacher. The material comes with a ready-made form and structure which makes it easy to use and can help you to design a good digital teaching environment. Unlike the complete room templates, you only import materials, but no room settings. 

Please note that you have to search in Canvas Commons to find the supporting material, it is not possible to directly link to it.

All question types in a New quiz (pedagogical tips) 

Teachers who are interested in testing the question types available in New quizzes, can import the quiz "All question types in a New Quiz (and pedagogical tips)". This quiz contains examples of all existing question types, as well as explanations when the question types are useful. The questions also includes example of feedback. Feel free to try taking the quiz in the student's view or by previewing it. 

To find the quiz, search for "All questions types in a New quiz".
