Research Ethics in the Age of Generative AI

In light of the rapid advancements in generative AI tools, such as ChatGPT, it has become increasingly important to engage in active discussions about the ethical implications of these technologies in research and academia. The Ethics Committee at KTH invites KTH’s teachers, researchers and PhD students to a seminar on Research Ethics.

The seminar will explore various ethical concerns associated with generative AI, including:

  • Biases and discrimination in AI-generated content
  • Privacy, data subject rights, and data protection
  • Ownership and control of intellectual property
  • Environmental impact of resource-intensive generative AI models
  • Originality in research publications involving both human and AI-generated content
  • Academic publishing as AI-generated submissions become more prevalent
