Welcome to a unique and inspiring workshop with Tilde Björfors, a Swedish pioneer in contemporary circus, founder of Cirkus Cirkör, and recipient of KTH’s Great Prize 2023.

In this workshop, we will explore the creative processes of circus and how they can be used as a source of innovation and new ways of thinking. Drawing inspiration from past and ongoing interdisciplinary projects between engineering and circus, participants will be guided through a mix of experiences and active participation, challenges and fresh perspectives, to discover how artistic and technical viewpoints can merge to plant the seeds of groundbreaking ideas.

The workshop will be facilitated by:

  • Tilde Björfors, director, researcher, and innovator

  • Erik Åberg, PhD student in circus at SKH and juggler/object manipulator

  • Alisan Funk, Head of Subject, Associate professor, and Assistant Professor in Circus at SKH

  • Roberto Bresin, Professor of Media Technology at KTH and Director of NAVET

  • Luigia Brandimarte, Associate professor in Hydraulic Engineering at KTH

  • Leif Handberg, Associate professor in Media Technology at KTH
