Björn Berggren will be responsible for KTH's strategic work in Southeast Asia

KTH's President has decided to give Professor Björn Berggren the assignment as responsible academic for strategic work in Southeast Asia from 2020-08-31. The assignment equals 20% of a full time position.

KTH has extensive collaboration with universities in Southeast Asia and especially in Singapore. This applies both to collaborations in research and education. The collaboration in education mainly consists of an extensive student exchange with Nanyang Technological University (NTU) and with the National University of Singapore (NUS). The collaboration with NUS also includes the special programme for exchange studies in combination with internships at companies, NUS Overseas Colleges. In addition, KTH works actively with student recruitment, collaborations with universities and companies in the rest of Southeast Asia.
The responsible academic is responsible for developing an activity plan with overall planning for the calendar year. The plan is drawn up together with the responsible officer at GVS / EDO / IRO and in consultation with the Vice-President for Global Relations and IRO's management.

Professor Anders Hult, CBH School, holds the assignment as responsible academic for Southeast Asia during the period 2020-01-01 - 2020-08-31. From 2020-08-31 Björn Berggren will take over the role until 2020-12-31.
