Simplified procedure for departmental confirmation of externally financed research projects

Published Jan 21, 2026

At the beginning of the year, the project manager support at the ABE School introduced a simplified process for departmental confirmation. The previous requirement for confirmation in the form of a signed project calculation in connection with project grants and any contract review has been removed. Going forward, departmental confirmation will be accepted in the form of an email from the head of department, signed terms from Prisma or similar, or a signed budget.

The responsible researcher is still expected to confirm the budget with their department management, supported by the financial officer during the application process and in cases where the granted funding differs from the applied amount. Departments may still maintain their own internal signing routines, but these will be handled internally before submission to the ABE project manager support.

The aim is to reduce administrative work and create a smoother workflow for approved research projects. The simplified procedure was tested during the autumn and resulted in faster case handling with less administrative effort for all parties involved.
