Live Conversation on AI and Learning
In March, Vice Dean joined the podcast Fikasnack with Nina Wormbs (#55 on KTH Play) to discuss the Faculty Council’s newly developed recommendations for what teachers should communicate to students regarding the use of AI tools in each course component. The recommendation consists of three key sentences:
- “It must be clearly stated in Canvas and the course syllabus how the use of generative AI is restricted in teaching and/or assessment.
- The restriction must be justifiable based on learning objectives, the nature of the assignment, or pedagogical considerations.
- In both teaching and assessment, it must also be clearly stated in written information whether the use of generative AI must be disclosed by the student.”
A link to the Faculty Council’s meeting minutes from March 5, 2025—where the recommendation was adopted—can be found on the page: KTH’s templates for course-specific information on generative AI.
You're welcome to share questions or reflections in the Zoom chat!
Guests: Caroline Bern and Iris Callerholm
In today’s live conversation, Marcus and Anna speak with Caroline Bern from the E-learning team in the Education Digitalization Portfolio (DPU), and Iris Callerholm, Head of Educational Influence at THS, about how the recommendation has been implemented at KTH.
