All KTH employees are invited to Meet & Mingle on 2 December at KTH Campus. The event is organised by KTH Relocation and the Human Resources Department. The aim is to meet up, exchange a few words and perhaps discover new and unexpected common ground.
Meet & Mingle
Date: 2 December Time: 4:15–6:00 p.m. Location: Teknikringen 1 Open to: All KTH employees (limited number of places)
Mingling, snacks, drinks and activities
The event aims to make it easier for both new and established employees to establish contacts across school and department boundaries, languages and professional roles.
‘For new international employees, it is often personal meetings that make the biggest difference in the early stages – not only for their work at KTH, but also for settling in Sweden,’ Kamyar Zarrin at KTH Relocation says.
Meet & Mingle will give new employees a chance to meet people who are already established here, ask questions and get tips on everything from work culture to everyday life in Sweden.
‘Many international colleagues say they would like to get to know more Swedes,’ Eleni Nylén says, who also works at KTH Relocation.
Zarrin adds:
"For colleagues who have been at KTH for a long time, it will be an opportunity to encounter the energy and curiosity that many new international researchers and other employees bring with them.
Both hope that the mingle will provide a natural opening for spontaneous conversations, laughter and new perspectives.
‘Perhaps it will lead to a future lunch, a new collaboration – or just a pleasant time in good company,’ Nylén says.
This is what will happen during Meet & Mingle
The afternoon offers a few surprises, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks. For those who want to, there will be some light-hearted activities that make it easy to get in touch with new people, but everything is voluntary.

This is what KTH Relocation does
KTH Relocation works to ensure that international researchers and their families get off to a good start at KTH and in Sweden. Over the past year, the work has developed and broadened, and here are some examples of activities:
Preboarding – Next Stop KTH
Monthly digital meetings where international employees receive ongoing support prior to their arrival. The meetings include practical information, an introduction to Sweden and an opportunity to ask questions before the move.
Improved information on the intranet
Clearer and more accessible web pages make it easier for new employees to find the right support and understand what to expect upon arrival.
Newsletter for international employees
A regular newsletter provides tips on activities, career opportunities, KTH news and what's happening in Stockholm and Sweden – perfect for discovering more about your new everyday life.
Support for accompanying persons
KTH Relocation also offers individual support and networking meetings on various topics, such as how to apply for jobs in Sweden. For a researcher to thrive and stay, it is often important that their partner and children can also settle in and feel at home.
External networks and collaboration
KTH Relocation is active in the Stockholm Business Region, Stockholm Trio and EURAXESS networks, which work together to attract and retain international talent. Processes for receiving and supporting international staff have been developed with clearer lines of communication and more efficient procedures.
