Course development funding

School of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS)

Electrical Engineering

The council for the doctoral programme Electrical Engineering offers course development funding to encourage quality improvement of the program's courses.

Course development funding can be applied for at any time during the year and the application must be submitted before the course starts. In order for a course to be eligible for funding, it must have at least three participants, planned classroom teaching and have some type of final exam.

The application must contain:

  • description of the course being developed and/or what changes are planned
  • what costs the funding is intended to cover
  • when the course is scheduled to start and how often it will be offered.

After completed course, the following is submitted:

  • a class list
  • a course analysis, based on student course evaluation.

If funding is granted, it will be disbursed after the course is completed and no later than two years after the application has been approved.

Send application and supplementary information to doctoral-education-support@eecs.kth.se

Due to major differences in size and content of the courses, there are two levels of course development funds: SEK 100,000 and 200,000. The program council decides on what level the course should be granted funding, based on the size of work with, for example, course compendiums, projects and lectures. Typically, major revisions may be funded with SEK 100,000 and new courses with SEK 200,000.
