Apply for SSF Future Research Leaders!

Published May 20, 2024

For the ninth time, the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research (SSF) announces its flagship program, Future Research Leaders (FFL-9). Since its inception in 2000, the program has been announced every third year, and around 150 successful researchers have participated. Now, 16 young researchers are given the opportunity to participate.

The program aims to provide newly established researchers with the highest scientific and pedagogical competence and the opportunity to develop as research leaders. These individuals should have the ambition to implement research results in society beyond academia and, later in their careers, take responsibility for a significantly larger research group.

"Among the researchers who have graduated from the Future Research Leaders program are several of today’s major research leaders in Sweden and abroad. The foundation was early in integrating leadership training, which is demanding and highly appreciated," says Lars Hultman, CEO of the Swedish Foundation for Strategic Research.

During five years, participants will receive a grant of SEK 15 million each and undergo comprehensive leadership training.
