"Collaboration across organisational boundaries"
EECS reform agenda
All schools at KTH have developed their own reform agendas. At EECS, the focus is on improving the educational offer. Head of School Ann Lantz believes that these changes will result lead to progress and increased competitiveness.
What do you think about KTH's overall goals and vision?
“The overall goals and vision have a format that differs from previous versions. I think it's positive and easier to take on board. It lays down the framework we must relate to ar the schools.”
Why a reform agenda, and how do you define it?
“A reform agenda is a bit like a development plan. It sets out important areas and points in a direction, and at the schools we can use it to organise the school's work for the future and assess how we can work together for the good of KTH.”
What should the school achieve in its activities linked to KTH's overall goals and vision?
“We are reviewing the educational portfolio, assuring our finances are more balanced and finding ways to have a more equal distribution of for instance assignments. Beyond this we are also considering how we can work more efficiently using our premises here at KTH Campus.”
Why are these particular reforms the most important to make?
"Balanced finances underpins much of what we do, but we also want to improve the quality of our operations. It may seem like there are a lot of big changes going on right now which can seem messy and create some anxiety, but I think we'll be much better off in the long run.”
How will it work?
“Different working groups and people are deeply involved in the change process. We are learning and getting more and more of an overall picture of our organisation. What's great is that we are working together across organisational boundaries and at different levels to get the job done.”
