Wallenberg Academy Fellows
The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation finances a long-term programme for young researchers, Wallenberg Academy Fellows. The programme encompasses young researchers in medicine, natural sciences, technology, humanities and social sciences.
How to apply to become a Wallenberg Fellow
- In accordance with KAW's guidelines, KTH makes its own prioritization and selection of the candidates.
- New for this year is that the former 3-page pre-application is replaced by an application in more detail that is submitted to the Research Support Office no later than 31 October 2024.
- Criteria used are now predominantly the same as for KAW for those who are later allowed to submit their application.
- Each school has appointed a person responsible for identifying and encouraging internal and external applicants (please see list below) with good conditions to succeed in their application. Anyone who wants to can apply.

The prioritization of those who are allowed to submit a complete application is done by an expert group with representatives from the faculty, as well as external assessors, under the leadership of the Vice President for research. This expert group is appointed by the faculty's dean, together with KTH's faculty council, and is tasked with drawing up a priority list for KTH's President. The call is open every two years. KTH will be allowed to nominate 12 Fellows according to the principle that an internal candidate can be nominated for each international nomination.
Deadlines
Deadline for application sent to KTH Research Support Office: 31 October 2024.
