Quick reference guide on how to add shared mailbox on an iPhone or iPad
Before you follow the quick reference guide, you need to know what the name of the shared mailbox is, hence it is not always the same as its e-mail address. Contact KTH IT-Support if you need to get the correct name.
This instruction works from iOS version 14.5.
Always use the latest version of iOS. Between version 14 and 14.5, the function mailbox did not work correctly due to underlying technical reasons beyond KTH's control.
Go to "Settings"
Select "Mail"
Select "Accounts"
Select "Add Account"
Select "Other" to add your shared mailbox
Select "Add Mail Account"
Fill in the information as stated below: Name: (Optional) Email: The e-mail address of the shared mailbox Password: Your personal KTH password Description: (Optional). Select "Next"
Fill in the information as stated below:
Incoming Mail Server Host Name: webmail.kth.se Username: ug.kth.se/username/shared mailbox name (Note: your KTH username without "@kth.se") Outgoing Mail Server Host Name: smtp.kth.se Username: Your KTH username Password: Your KTH password and select "Next"
Select "Save" to finish. After that you can go to Mail app where you can find your new mailbox.
Enter the shared mailbox’s email address and tap “Add Account”.
Tap “Not Exchange” and
Select “IMAP”.
Fill in the IMAP settings as follows:
Email Address: Shared mailbox’s email address
Display Name: Optional
Description: Optional description of the functional mailbox
IMAP Hostname: webmail.kth.se
IMAP Port: 993
Port Security: SSL
IMAP Username: ug.kth.se\your own username\shared mailbox name
Neither the username nor the functional mailbox name should contain @kth.se or @ug.kth.se.
IMAP Password: Password for your own KTH account
SMTP Hostname: smtp.kth.se
SMTP Port: 587
Port Security: STARTTLS
SMTP Username: Your own KTH username (not @kth.se or @ug.kth.se)
