What do I need to prepare to use KTH Import Exams?

You need to ensure that your exam administration knows that you will assess digitally. Otherwise, you do not need to do anything, the function is installed in your examination room.

Who can use KTH Import Exams?

People who have one of the roles teacher, examiner or course coordinator in the examination room are authorized to use the function.

Why do I have to use the examination room instead of importing the exams directly into the regular course room?

The examination room must be used so that the correct students have access to the examination. You cannot use the course room for the following two reasons:

  • Students may be registered for the exam without necessarily being registered for the current course and therefore lack access to the course room.
  • All students registered for the course are in the course room, but only those who have registered for the exam should be able to take the exam.

All registered students on an activity will have access to the examination room after the registration period has closed.

Anonymous written exams in the fall of 2024

During the fall of 2024, in consultation with GA, the possibility of conducting anonymous assessment of written proctored examinations will be carried out. Read more about anonymous assessment under How to implement anonymous assessment at KTH .

Can I import proctored written exams with anonymous cover sheets?

Yes, KTH Import Exams has been adapted to preserve anonymity when importing anonymously written exams to Canvas and works for anonymous and non-anonymous proctored exams. KTH Import Exams checks in Ladok whether an examination has been carried out with anonymous cover sheets (so-called anonymous written exams) and creates the corresponding Canvas assignment accordingly. In this way, anonymity is also maintained in Canvas.

What should I do if the import takes a long time?

If many people use the function at the same time, the import can be a bit slow. Be patient, once the import has started you can leave the page and come back later.

I have imported my exams, but some are missing. What might be the reason?

Since the exams are scanned in batches, some exams might be available earlier than others. Because of this, you might have to run the app multiple times. If you suspect that some exams have not been scanned or if you want to know more about the scanning process, please contact the exam administration at examinationsadm@kth.se .

One of the imported exams was improperly scanned. What am I supposed to do?

Contact your exam administration and ask them to scan the exams again. Check that the correct cover page has been used and that the student has filled in the correct personal identity number and in the correct place.

Do I as a teacher have to fill in the scanned cover page on the students' exams?

No, but you can use the cover page if it makes it easier to compile the results of the assessment. The students still needs to fill out the cover page.

Can I get the scanned exams divided question by question?

No, it is not possible to divide the scanned exams in this way as it requires a lot of manual work.
