Navigation
All course rooms and examination rooms come preset with a navigation structure according to KTH's templates. Under the "Navigation tab" you can add items to the course menu, change the order and set the visibility.
The templates are created to give the students a uniformity in appearance and layout in the course room. If you make changes, it is good to have thought through the purpose first.
Edit the course menu
Under "Navigation" there are two lists with all headings (objects) you can have in the course menu. All in the upper list are visible in the course menu for students while all in the lower list are hidden for students. You can also see in the course menu which ones are hidden: they have a symbol with a crossed-out eye next to their name.
Transfer to Ladok and Settings in the course menu on the left are hidden from students even though they lack a crossed-out eye symbol.
You can click and drag the different headings to put them in the order you want them or to move them between the two lists. On each heading, it is also possible to open "Edit course navigation" by clicking on the three dots. In the menu that opens, you can choose to move the header within the list it is in and select "Disable" or "Enable" to move the header to the list of inactive or active headers.
Note! Remember to save any changes you make.
Some headers can be used despite deactivation
However, everything that is disabled in the lower list is not equivalent. This means that for example "Reviews" can only be hidden from the course menu but students can still get there if they have a link to it. Students who follow a link to "Assignments" when it is hidden will end up on the home page. You can read which applies to each heading when it is in the lower list.
Important to remember is that if you hide Assignments, students will still be able to access individual assignments, but they won't be able to access the list of all assignments. Links to the assignments from a module will still work even if the Assignments list is hidden, which is the recommended course structure.
