As part of KTH’s ongoing efforts to strengthen strategic partnerships and collaboration with African universities, we are now opening a call for support to facilitate researcher and teacher mobility to our partner institutions in Africa during 2025–2026.

This call aims to enhance mutual exchange, develop joint research initiatives, and foster long-term collaboration with KTH’s partner universities in Africa, in line with KTH’s global engagement strategy and building on the experiences of the KTH Global Development Hub (GDH). The call seeks to broaden and strengthen these collaborations, engaging researchers from diverse fields and disciplines.

Partner Institutions in Africa

The call is directed towards visits to the following partner institutions:

Information about KTH’s collaborations and ongoing initiatives with African partner universities is available on the following webpages:

Eligibility and funding

KTH faculty, researchers, and administrative staff who are planning visits for research collaboration, teaching, curriculum development, the preparation of joint proposals with the above-mentioned institutions, or to build and strengthen long-term research and working networks are eligible.

Funding and opportunities

KTH supports mobility and collaborative activities through the Erasmus+ International Credit Mobility (ICM) programme for selected partnerships. The programme provides funding for faculty, researchers, and administrative staff engaging in activities such as research collaboration, teaching, curriculum development, and the preparation of joint proposals.

The funding includes coverage for travel costs and a daily allowance (per diem). The per diem is set at €180 per day for the first 14 days of the visit, and €135 per day (75% of the initial rate) from day 15 onwards. The minimum duration of the stay is 5 working days, and the maximum is 30 working days. In addition, up to 2 travel days may be covered.

When to go

Visits should be planned during 2025–2026. Exact dates and lengths may vary depending on the partner university’s schedule and the nature of the planned activity.
