Operations representatives

Experts from each operation ensure the website's content is correct. Content may only appear on the website if it has a designated responsible person.

Content owner

A content owner is a subject matter expert who ensures that information is accurate and of high quality. The content owner provides the web editor  with relevant content but can also simultaneously hold the web editor role.

All content must have a designated owner when it's published online.

Tasks for content owners

  • Ensuring that the factual content of a website is targeted, accurate and up-to-date.
  • Work with the web editor to create content for web pages in their area.
  • Act as the external contact person for the web pages.

A content owner should undergo the following training.

Course in digital accessibility

Area manager

Area manager is a possible role for subject areas that appear in different parts of the website. This could be, for example, postgraduate education or HR. This person is an expert from the organisation and coordinates the facts and content owners working on the subject area. The area manager collaborates with editors in their area and is the primary contact with web managers.

The area manager shall:

  • be appointed by the head of the department that mainly manages the subject area
  • be given working time in proportion to the amount of information to be handled in the area
  • have a good knowledge of KTH's websites and its organisation and structural principles
  • have a good knowledge of the activities within the area's goals, purpose and target groups.

Tasks for area managers

  • Ensuring that a website's content is targeted, accurate and up-to-date.
  • Work with the web editor to create content for web pages in their area.
  • Coordinate information with editors and content owners in the subject area
  • Monitor that there are active, responsible editors for all content.
  • Unpublish content that does not have a responsible editor and bring it up with the accountable manager from the organisation.
  • Ensure that there is no conflicting information on other KTH websites.
  • Consult with web managers when adjusting the structure.
  • Co-operate with those responsible for the sections where the information is published.
  • Be the primary contact for web issues in the area.
