Lock system

This overarching function description applies throughout KTH.

Scope

This overarching function description applies throughout KTH.

Definitions

  • Lock system: Lock cylinders in relation to each other and authorisation combine to form a system and/or group.
  • Lock cylinder: Control mechanism for operating the lock housing.

Responsibility

KTH's central lock system is planned, managed and administered by KTH's security function, with responsibility for contact with the security supplier.

The school/division appoints a person responsible who is, if necessary, also deputy contact person, for keys and lock systems. The responsible contact person can order keys, lock cylinders and changes to lock systems at the school/division.

Lock system

The purpose of a lock system is to assign access rights to users in a structured manner and to prevent unauthorised access to buildings or spaces. KTH's lock systems are planned on the basis of security needs, and organisational and user needs, and follow the system structure in accordance with KTH's planning documentation.

KTH's Security Group provides information and a review of the lock systems for the contact person for a school/division with regard to keys and lock systems.

To order, change and any measures to be taken with regard to lock systems, contact KTH's security function.
