Intrusion alarms
The purpose of this function page is to describe KTH's intrusion alarm system and to provide support for this by clarifying the scope and requirements involved.
Scope
This overarching function description applies throughout KTH.
Definitions
- Intrusion alarm system: A system that includes devices to detect burglary, theft and attack.
- Detector: A device that detects and records the type of event.
- Alarm authorisation: Right to arm and disarm the intrusion alarm system.
- Action documentation: Documentation for the alarm receiving centre that clarifies the action plan.
- Alarm receiving centre: Receiver of an activated alarm, and distributes the information and event to the alarm organisation and security company.
- Alarm organisation: Persons or positions that acknowledge, investigate and take action when an event occurs.
Responsibility
KTH's central intrusion alarm system is planned, managed and administered by KTH's security function through its access control function.
A school/division is the user of the intrusion alarm system and is responsible for appointing a decision-making and contact person in relation to the alarm receiving centre with regard to action documentation. The decision-making and contact person is responsible for allocating alarm authorisation and changes to the intrusion alarm system, and needs to be available 24 hours a day to the alarm receiving centre and security guards for notification of an event and to decide on any measures to be taken if necessary.
Intrusion alarms
The intrusion alarm system includes detectors to protect KTH's premises against burglary, theft and attack.
A recorded event and activated intrusion alarm are sent via KTH's central alarm system to KTH's contracted alarm receiving centre. An event is forwarded to the school/division's alarm organisation and to KTH's security guards who initiate the alarm response to check the alarm point and premises/building. A response report is drawn up and forwarded to the contact person for the intrusion alarm system.
If you accidentally trigger an intrusion alarm, remain on the premises until the security guard arrives and make yourself known so that the security guard knows what has happened.
In the event of a change or expansion of the intrusion alarm system, contact KTH's security function.
