Your rights as the data subject

According to the Data Protection Act, you have a number of rights in relation to the processing of your personal data. KTH processes your personal data in order to support this mission. However, KTH has the right to refuse this in certain cases if the work creates unreasonable administrative burdens, or if the request entails privacy risks for other persons.

Right of access

As an individual, you have the right to request information about what personal data KTH processes about you.

The right to rectification

As an individual, you have the right to request that personal data at KTH be corrected if it is incorrect.

The right to erasure

As an individual, you have the right to have your personal data erased in cases where the personal data is no longer needed to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected (this is the right to be forgotten). There may be provisions stating that personal data may not be erased, in which case these provisions apply.

If the personal data has been disclosed to another party, KTH shall take reasonable measures to inform this party that the data has been erased. If there are legal obstacles to the deletion of the personal data, KTH will limit the processing of these personal data to only include processing to the extent that there are legal requirements.

The right to restriction of personal data

As an individual, you have the right to request that the processing of personal data is restricted by allowing the personal data to be processed only for certain specific purposes.

The right to restriction of personal data can be made if:

  • The personal data is not correct and KTH needs time to check the accuracy of the data.
  • The personal data is no longer needed for KTH's operations, but you request that they continue to be stored because they may be needed to defend legal claims.
  • If you object to processing carried out by KTH.

The right to object to processing

In some cases, you as an individual, have the right to object to KTH processing your personal data. If there are no compelling reasons for KTH to continue processing the personal data, such as fulfilling legal requirements, KTH will cease processing.
