The CBH Faculty Board has begun this year's work with its first meeting. Eva Malmström Jonsson, professor and vice-chair, summarises the Faculty Board's mission.

Each school at KTH has a faculty board, FN, which is a collegial preparatory and decision-making body. The board is led by the Head of School and consists of six other teacher members and two external members.

The tasks of the Faculty Board are set out in the rules of procedure at KTH, the delegation order for KTH and other decisions. The term of office for each faculty board is 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2026.

The CBH Faculty Board  is the collegial body for influence and decision-making at the CBH level. The Faculty Board is responsible for issues relating to the quality of education and research and contributes to the strategic development of the CBH in various ways.

Starting in 2025, the faculty boards were given an expanded mandate, which means that they are also responsible for all teacher appointments  and docent matters  at their respective schools. This represented a significant broadening of the boards' mandate.

The expansion has strengthened the role of the CBH Faculty Board in academic governance and reinforced the board's importance for the school's long-term supply of expertise. In 2025, the first quality assessment of research  at CBH was carried out. KTH and CBH also began work on broadening recruitment and participation.

In 2026, we look forward to following an initial pilot of the quality review of CBH's master's programmes focusing on Life Science, after which we will decide how CBH's other programmes will be evaluated in accordance with KTH's quality assurance work in education .

Two faculty meetings are planned for the spring. On 19 February , the focus will be on research issues, and on 25 May , the focus will be on education issues. A special invitation has been sent out. We look forward to seeing you there!
