How you make an error reporting if you're cold at work

Marco Mladenovic informs

Marko and Stefan measures the temperature
Published Nov 30, 2022

We have talked to Marco, the group leader at the Infrastructure and Service unit. Energy savings is high on everyone's agenda; unfortunately, many people feel it is too cold on our premises. Marco, let us know how you can make an error report and what happens to it.

Hi Marco! What does a typical day look like for you?
"I start my day by going through alarm reports. I keep statistics on the alarms to see patterns and prevent recurring alarms to keep unnecessary costs down. I also review newly received cases and schedule larger jobs during the week."

How do you make an error report, and what happens to it?
"Error reporting must be done via service@eecs.kth.se . When it is done, we first check that the thermostat is set to heat. If this is the case, we measure the temperature in the room with thermometers three times every other day. If the temperature is below 20.5 degrees, we report an error to Akademiska Hus."

How long until I can expect a response or action?
"After the above steps, we usually notify within 24 hours that we have forwarded the case to Akademiska Hus. Time for action can vary depending on the problem's size and usually lies entirely with Akademiska Hus.

Why it's important to register errors

All received error reports help us to improve our indoor climate in the long term. Before an error report has been registered, KTH cannot make demands against our landlord, Akademiska Hus.

Three quick questions

That's that about indoor climate and error reporting. Now we would like to know a little more about Marco. So here are three quick questions!

What do you prefer to do in your spare time?

"Hang out with family and friends."

What is your favourite dish?

"Swadbarski cabbage."

Winter or summer?

"Summer! With sun, swimming and wilderness adventures."

Every kilowatt-hour (kWh) counts!

The government has instructed all public authorities in Sweden "to implement energy-saving measures in public administration". Work is underway to implement measures at KTH. The amount of electricity purchased and energy-saving measures shall be regularly reported to the government up to and including April 2023.
