Add e-mail in Outlook for macOs

Quick reference guide for adding your KTH e-mail account to Outlook for macOS.

New Outlook for MacOS

Outlook needs to be set to run "Legacy Outlook" to work with KTH's email system, as it does not work in the newer version of Outlook.

If you have accidentally activated the new version of Outlook, you need to change back to "Legacy Outlook".

At support.microsoft.com  you can read about how to change back to the older version.

  1. Open Outlook and click Outlook in the top menu, go to Preferences

  2. Click Accounts
    Accounts marked.
  3. Choose Add Email account
    Add Email account is marked.
  4. Enter your e-mail address and click Continue. Note! AEnter your username followed by @kth.se (example: testjp@kth.se), do not use any other domains like @school.kth.se, it will create problems.

  5. Fill in the following fields:
    Domain\username: UG\your username
    Password: password for your KTH account
    Server: webmail.kth.se

    Click on Add Account.

  6. Click on Done to finish adding of your KTH e-mail account

  7. Now Outlook starts synchronizing your mailbox. You need to go to Accounts again to enter your full name.

  8. Allow the autodiscover service to point you to the correct e-mail server by selecting Always use my answer for this server and clicking Allow. If it does not work (for example if you are outside KTH's network), enter webmail.kth.se as e-mail server when the question comes up.
