Create and manage video

An educational video is created in stages. After planning the content, the video is recorded and edited. Thereafter, captions are provided and finally the video is published. Depending on the video requirements, different tools and applications are available.

The Act on Accessibility to Digital Public Services (DOS)

According to the EU directive (2016/2102) on accessibility regarding public authorities' websites and mobile applications, all EU countries must have laws aimed at increasing digital accessibility for all users, including people with disabilities.

In Sweden, the directive is implemented by the law on accessibility to digital public services that came into force on 1 January 2019. KTH as an authority therefore needs to adapt its website so that content is published in an accessible format for everyone.

Accessible film and audio

For film and audio content, the accessible format means that users who cannot access audio or video recordings are can assimilate the content using an alternative representation. For example, it could be a script (a text) that has been edited to match the actual content of the recording. For recorded material, all audio that is important for the content of a video must be captioned for increased accessibility.

The requirements for recorded video apply to materials published from 23 September, 2020. Read more about how to make video content more accessible on the page about Create accessible content: film and sound .
