Guide your students away from plagiarism
One way to prevent plagiarism is to discuss the topic with students. In this way, you contribute to their knowledge of how to reference correctly. It is always better to help students avoid plagiarism than to punish those who plagiarize. Many students need to gain an understanding of what plagiarism actually means in practice.

How Originality works
Inspera Originality is a tool that helps teachers and examiners review student texts and detect plagiarism and text manipulation. At KTH, Originality is used in connection with digital submissions via Canvas. The review results are compiled into an analysis report that you as a teacher or examiner, need to review. KTH recommends using Originality as an integrated tool in Canvas "Assignments," but it can also be used independently in exceptional cases.
Using Originality in Canvas
Inspera Originality can be selected when you create a new assignment in Canvas, or added to an already existing assignment. After the review, the report from Originality will be available directly in Canvas. Here you can read more about how to create an assignment in Canvas with plagiarism checking via Originality.
