Security Protection – definitions and laws

Security of Sweden  

The term "Swedish Security" refers to matters of fundamental importance to Sweden, such as defense, the democratic system of government, the judicial system and vital capabilities that are of importance from a national perspective.

Security Protection  

Protection of security sensitive capabilities against espionage, sabotage, terrorist crimes and other threats that may endanger capabilities relevant to Swedish national security, as well as protection in other cases of classified information.

Security Sensitive Capabilities  

Capabilities that are of importance to Sweden's security or that are included an bi- or multilateral International Agreement on Security Protection.

Security Sensitive Information  

Information relating to security-sensitive capabilities that is subject to confidentiality under the Public Access to Information and Secrecy Act (2009:400) or which would have been subject to confidentiality under that Act if it is applicable.
