A job with variety is how Emelie Fratzl, one of the employees at the Service Center in Kista, describes her job. Emelie started at KTH just over a year ago after a six-year career in the hotel industry.
Emelie works as a service coordinator at Infrastructure and Service. She has a central role in managing cases in the unit's system and is the face of receiving visits from employees and students at the Service Centre. Her duties cover various tasks, including handling mail, catering, room bookings and travel arrangements.
"The best part of my job is the variety; I do many tasks daily. There is always something new going on," Emelie shares.
"A more comfortable pace"
Before Emelie started at KTH in January 2023, she worked at the Clarion Sign Hotel. There, she started her journey in the reception and event department before advancing to the supervisor role at the reception.
"I really appreciate no longer having to work evenings and weekends; the pace here at KTH is more comfortable," Emelie reflects on her transition from the hotel industry to academia.
This change has also given her more time to spend on her favourite activity when she is not at work - just being at home.
"I'm probably the most boring person; I love being at home, watching series, socialising with friends and playing games."
