KTH's templates for Canvas rooms

To make it easier for students to navigate in Canvas rooms and to help teachers to more quickly arrange a structure in the rooms in Canvas, Canvas rooms are prepared with different templates. Below you can read more about KTH's different templates and how to access them.

Adjusted Canvas templates

Canvas rooms all initially look the same. To facilitate the work in Canvas, different templates are imported into the rooms before teachers and students have access. The work of developing and implementing templates for Canvas rooms is ongoing. Current templates are either automatically uploaded to Canvas rooms when the rooms are created or they can be downloaded from Canvas Commons. The teacher who do not want to use the content from a template can edit and replace it with their own material. Read more below about the templates that are centrally published from KTH.

As an aid for teachers to get started to create their courses in Canvas, there is a ready-made course room template. The template contains many recommended settings for course rooms and contains instructions in a README page. You can download the template in Swedish from Canvas Commons, where you also will find the latest version of the template. Some editing of the template is required before you fill it with course material.

Through the exam room template, the teacher receives help to manage the examination room so that it has a clear structure based on Canvas Assignments. For those who hold courses within the framework of lifelong learning, there is a customized course room template that contains extra guidance for students who are not used to KTH and Canvas. The template is based on the course room template and also contains a module with resources for new KTH students and suggestions for introduction forums.
