Since the establishment of the Future of Education programme, more than 50 development projects have been initiated within the programme that in various ways involve all five schools at KTH. Now you have the chance to propose new projects and get involved in the development of the future of education at KTH in various ways. Deputy GA Daniel Koch tells more.

Daniel Koch

Daniel Koch  is Deputy Director of First and Second Cycle Education, focussing on the development of the school's educational offer. He is a member of the Future of Education programme management team and the local contact person/coordinator for the ABE School.

Why do we need new development projects?

- We are facing future challenges that require us to change and reinvent our teaching and education. Soon we will have passed the year 2030, which means that we need to think beyond the 2030 Agenda and prepare for the changes to come. How will AI, climate challenges and changing migration patterns affect education? How are students' study patterns and behaviours evolving, both today and in the future? These factors may affect everything from concrete teaching to the overall structures of the education system. For those involved in teaching and learning, this is an opportunity to actively contribute to these developments and ensure that we are equipping the teachers and students of the future in the best possible way.
Tell us more about the call and the background.

- The idea of the development projects is to promote innovative and ground-breaking ideas in teaching and learning, focusing on solutions that may be relevant beyond individual programmes and have the potential to be scaled up. Projects usually last for around one year. At ABE we have three existing projects, Integrated Lifelong Learning , Wicked problems in a sustainable context  and The design studio's pedagogical landscape where we are currently discussing a possible extension. We also very much welcome new ideas! You can apply with your own project idea, to contribute to existing projects or simply to get involved even if you do not yet have a concrete idea. We're keen to hear from people who want to be involved in developing the future of education - whether you have a ready-made project proposal, a commitment to these challenges or an idea that we can help you develop further!

How to apply?

- Get in touch with me, preferably in the next week! There is no expectation that ideas submitted will be completely finalised from the start, the idea is that we can brainstorm together. So if you are interested in these questions, get in touch!
