Dear all,

The fall semester is now up and running. The kick-off for the MSc-programs seemed very successful on Wednesday, the space outside our building was full of happy students.

Last week we spent two days with the MMK mgmt. group and the MSc track leaders to discuss the development of our MSc tracks and the development plan for the department. Yesterday, at a full-day workshop with the school mgmt. group, I presented the MMK development plan, according to the final adjustment of last week. This development plan is an action plan of what we intend to do the next couple of years and I’m happy that we have been able to agree on so many things to do jointly. In comparison with the other departments of our school, we are extremely well positioned for the future.

On Wednesday last week, I was happy to see that so many people attended the kick-off. Several colleagues asked if we could redo the prototyping activities, I hope we can schedule something in the future so that more people can practice using the workshop- and the prototyping machines. The BBQ was very nice!!!

On Thursday last week me and Claes Tisell attended the funeral of our colleague Lars Eriksson. Several retired colleagues attended as well. Lars spent his entire professional life at KTH and it was very nice to meet his family.
