Difficult conversations and conflict management

Even with active efforts to maintain a good work environment, conflicts can arise. As a manager, it's important to act quickly to prevent escalation. At KTH, we focus on strengthening our culture of mutual respect and follow the Swedish guidelines for organizational and social work environment.

Managing workplace conflicts

If a workplace conflict arises, it’s crucial for you as a manager to address the issue as soon as possible, before it escalates into an open conflict in the workplace.

KTH is committed to improving the culture of mutual respect and values the collaborative climate. We base our work on the Swedish Work Environment Authority’s regulations on organizational and social work environments.

You may need tools to understand, prevent, and manage conflicts. When handling difficult conversations, it is important to prepare, use the right conversational techniques, and follow up the conversation. Feel free to seek support from HR for practical tips on how to succeed in your conversation with the employee.
