Insurance

As a manager you play a key role in ensuring that employees have the appropriate insurance coverage and follow the routines in cases such as business travel or occupational injuries.

Insurance foremployed staff

All employees are covered by the Work Injury Insurance, one of Sweden’s social insurance schemes, administered by the Swedish Social Insurance Agency (Försäkringskassan). Additionally, all employees are covered by the Agreement on Compensation for Personal Injury (PSA), administered by Afa Insurance.

As a manager, you need to make sure that occupational injuries and occupational diseases are reported to Försäkringskassan via the IA system. The employee must then apply for compensation themselves. HR can provide support to both the manager and the employee. Decisions regarding compensation, as well as any payments, are made by Försäkringskassan and Afa Insurance.

Report near-misses, risk and occupational injuries

Insurance fornon-employed staff

Non-employed staff participating in KTH’s activities are covered by equivalent protection through Kammarkollegiet’s insurance. The individual submits her or his own compensation claim. HR can certify the employee’s right to access this insurance.

Insurance for guests and other fellows affiliated

Business travel insurance

KTH has a group business travel insurance policy for all employees through Kammarkollegiet. All business trips must be approved in advance by the immediate manager through an authorized travel order.

For international business trips, employees need a personal insurance certificate. Contact your department’s administration, service center, or HR to obtain this document.

Group life insurance

Through the National Government Employee Pensions Board (Statens Tjänstepensionsverk, SPV), KTH provides a group life insurance policy that offers financial compensation to the surviving relatives of KTH employees in the event of the employee’s death.
