Dear all,
This week KTH invited employees to join the second round of the “Pulse”, the workplace survey. This survey will be done every quarter, it is open during a small window (May 9 to May 17). Immediately after, the responses are analyzed and a summary is automatically sent to each manager. Each manager is expected to present the analysis at the next unit meeting. Managers are also expected to pick at least one area in need for improvement after each survey, and to create an action plan focusing on that aspect. The surveys are meant to be comparable, so that trends can be identified in consecutive surveys. It’s important that everyone answers this survey and that we all join the discussions in the follow-up unit meetings to jointly agree on actions.
This week, permanent staff also received an invitation for a “life and career planning activity”. Things like this often get lost in the email crowd, so I’d also like to mention that this is an activity that has created a big impact in MMK people’s lives during the years I’ve been at KTH. Some people have joined, it’s a commitment, and I can clearly see how this has helped several colleagues in their careers.
I also want to push for the “Storträff” on May 26. The deadline to vote for topics is today. I will myself join two discussions, one regarding how to setup the new mandatory individual competence development plans for teachers, and one discussion on the possible integration of student workshops, prototype center, labs etc between the four departments in our neighborhood. I believe we have very good opportunities to influence these activities according to our MMK ideas and values.
Best,
Martin
