When you have obtained your Swedish personal identification number (personnummer) it is your responsibility to inform KTH about this. Please send an e-mail to studentdata@kth.se to get your temporary personal identity number updated in the KTH database of student records; Ladok. This change will apply to all higher education institutions in Sweden that are affiliated with Ladok, including eventual accounts at other communications platforms connected to your studies, such as Mecenat, SSSB, and www.universityadmissions.se.

Courses that have not been included in a completed degree programme that started prior to admission to doctoral studies and were not part of fulfilling admission criteria to doctoral studies are eligible for credit transfer. Such applications for credit transfer must be submitted within the first six months after admission to doctoral studies.
The Mecenat and SL discounts are dependent on your study activity, which is registered each semester based on the information provided in your ISP (section 2.1). Check your latest established ISP to make sure that the rate for the current semester is included, and revise it if it is missing. If it is already stated, please contact Doctoral Education Support and we will update your information in Ladok manually.
Once the study activity has been corrected, follow the

to update your account.
Yes. All supervisors must be decided by the Director of Third-Cycle Education (FA), either at the time of admission or later, using the form
application for change of supervisors

Yes, doctoral students can apply for a change of third-cycle subject or specialisation and/or switch to a newer general syllabus. To initiate this process, please use the application form

No, a licentiate seminar and defence of doctoral thesis may only take place between 7 January - 15 June and 15 August - 20 December. This may be referred to as term time for third-cycle studies.
In addition, the public defence and licentiate seminar must stay as close as possible to normal office hours at KTH and cannot be held on non-working days.

You can make changes to the doctoral/licentiate thesis until the doctoral student has received a decision on the public defence/licentiate seminar and information to send the thesis for printing. Of course, the changes should be minor so as not to affect the advance reviewer's approval.
Doctoral students will only receive a digital version of their degree. Contact the Degree Office at

for assistance in exceptional circumstances. Alumni who previously received a physical original of their degree and need a copy of it may contact

Other
Guest doctoral students are external doctoral students who visit KTH. They will not get admitted to doctoral studies or receive a degree from KTH.
The hosting faculty member should contact the Service Center well before the guest's arrival using the web form
